Late Victorian Diamond and Ruby Twist Ring, c.1900s

A unique, and gorgeous two stone ring, with a fabulous ruby along side a stunning old cut diamond. The diamond has a carat weight of 1.65, colour estimated as I and clarity SI1. Neighbouring the diamond is a lovely deep ruby, which has been certified by GCS. It is a natural stone, with no indications of treatment. It likely originates from Vietnam, and makes a striking contrast to the old cut diamond. The ruby has a weight of 1.90 carat, and is claw set using 18 carat yellow gold. The old cut is also claw set, however using platinum, allowing it’s life to really shine! To enhance the beauty of this piece further, there is a total of 0.50 carat grain set diamonds along the shoulders of the band, again using platinum. This leads into an 18 carat yellow gold band, typical of the era.
