This charming mallard duck brooch was made in the 1970s. The body is made of solid 18 carat gold, and is beautifully and intricately formed- with great detail on the feathers. The head is beautifully enamelled, giving a luminescent glow, similar to the feathers of a real mallard. This is a rare brooch by the designer Mellerio, which was excellently crafted.
