Victorian Pearl and Carnelian Mourning Ring, c.1880s
15 Carat Yellow Gold
£1,450.00

A fascinating Victorian mourning ring dating back to circa 1880s. Typical of the Victorian era, a lock of hair has been daintily placed in the centre of the ring, protected with a glass casing, in memory of a loved ones passing. The hair is then surrounded by a circle of carnelian gemstone and then followed by a single row of twenty three 2.5mm natural pearls. Adding a little extra touch of finer detail is a mil grain edging of gold separating the rows. The solid backing of the ring and the band itself, has been expertly crafted in 15ct yellow gold.
