Victorian 0.80 carat Ruby and Diamond Five Stone Ring, c.1880s

This delightful five stone ring comes to us from the Victorian era. Crafted by hand in 18 carat yellow gold the ring displays an alternating row of old cushion cut rubies and diamonds. The largest of the natural unheated rubies sits central at 0.50 carat with the flanking pair sitting at 0.15 carat a piece. The accenting old mine cut diamonds match in size and quality, weighing 0.30 carat each with a colour of H and clarity of VS. Each gem has been expertly claw set into an elegantly carved gallery and shank, tapering around the finger.
