Five stone rings, set in 18 carat yellow gold, were a popular style during the Victorian era. This stylish sapphire and diamond rendition dates from the 1880s.
This ring was hand-set with three old cut sapphires, totalling 0.50 carat, alternating with old cut diamonds, totalling 0.20 carat, in graduating sizes from the ring’s centre.
The antique stones are set within a handmade, marquise-shaped mounting, which is supported by raised claws between integrated shoulders leading to a D-shaped shank.
