The pear shaped amethyst in this Victorian pin brooch is a beautiful deep purple. The birthstone of February, the stone weighs 0.70 carat and is perfectly haloed by small old cut diamonds. The diamonds are hand cut and have a combined weight of 0.20 carat. They have been grain set within silver, whilst the gallery work and pin have been made in 15 carat rose gold, typical of the 1880s.
