Late Victorian Diamond and Ruby Drop Earrings, c.1900s
Out of stock
These earrings date back to approximately the 1900s and are made up of shining diamonds and radiant rubies. The diamonds take centre stage, with the rubies supporting. The piece is created from old cut diamonds, which all would have been hand cut and set. At the top of the earring is a rub over set 0.10 carat diamond. The 18 carat rose gold bar creates the dangle from which, there are rub over set rubies leading to the diamond and ruby circles hang. Each circle contains 0.03 carat’s worth of diamonds and 0.05 carat’s worth of rubies. The diamonds are grain set, whilst the rubies contrast in their rub over settings. To add to the intricacy of these earrings there is another old cut diamond hanging in the centre which weighs 0.15 carat. All the top of the setting work is made of platinum, whilst the base is 18 carat rose gold. They are a stunning pair!
