Edwardian 1.35ct Sapphire and Diamond Pendant, c.1910s

A strikingly beautiful pendant featuring a single natural, unheated blue sapphire delicately mil grained in the centre. It has a weight of 1.35 carat and is an old cushion cut shape. Surrounding the sapphire, is an intricately hand crafted, open metal work which incorporates small rose cut diamonds within. These rose cuts total to approximately 0.19 carats. On the edge of the pendant are a further nineteen old cut diamonds which total to 2.85 carats. Set above on the bail are another two diamonds which total to 0.15 carats. All the diamonds have been estimated as G in colour and VS in clarity. The stones have all been set in platinum with the rest of the pendant being made in 18ct yellow gold, including the chain. This gorgeous piece dates back to the Edwardian era.
