Victorian 1.00ct Ruby and Diamond Twist Ring, c.1880s

An old oval cut ruby is the centre of this lovely Victorian twist ring. The ruby is a deep red colour, and is 1.00 carat. An old cut diamond is set diagonally on either side of the gemstone, adding a sweeping sense of movement, along with the curved shoulders. The diamonds are 0.20 carat each, and are estimated as H colour and VS clarity. The gemstones are held within 18 carat yellow gold claws, which match the rest of the setting. This ring would have been made by hand in the 1880s.
