Art Deco 1.10ct Diamond and Ruby Octagon Target Ring, c.1920s

This fabulous art deco target ring features old cut diamonds encircled by a ring of french cut rubies. The centre diamond is 0.30 carat, while the surrounding eight diamonds are 0.10 carat each. The diamonds all match for quality, with grades of G colour and VS to SI clarity. A channel of rubies form the octagonal outline of the ring, totalling to 0.48 carat. These rubies were cut by hand to exact sizes to fit perfectly within the setting. The octagonal shape is a unique feature and reflects the geometric style of the period. The setting is made of platinum, and features a split shank on the shoulders.
