Vintage Ruby and Diamond Cluster Ring, c.1950s

This stunning ruby ring dates back to the 1950s and is a typical dress ring of this era. It features a deep red ruby in the centre which weighs 1.65 carat, claw set using 18 carat white gold. Thie beautiful stone is the highlighted by a halo of round brilliant diamonds, which equal 0.96 carat in total. The magnificent sparkle of the diamonds means they have been given an estimated colour grade of G and clarity VS1. The cluster ring is a popular design in the vintage period, with rubies being a popular gemstone of choice. The halo of diamonds features larger and smaller diamonds claw set. The band is thicker in order to hold the carat weight, and is made of 18 carat white gold.
